Desktop PC & Laptop

When it comes to running PosBros point-of-sale system on a PC or laptop here are some general minimum specifications to consider for a PC or laptop to run a basic POS system:

• Operating System: Choose a reliable and widely used operating system such as Windows 10 or higher And Mac OS v10.0 or higher for Macbook users.
• Processor (CPU): A PC or laptop with a capable processor to ensure smooth performance. A dual-core processor, such as Intel Core i3 or equivalent AMD processors, is generally sufficient for basic POS operations. However, a quad-core or higher processor, such as Intel Core i5 or i7, is recommended for better multitasking and performance.
• Memory (RAM): A minimum of 4 GB of RAM is generally recommended, but 8 GB or more is preferable for smoother multitasking and better performance.
• Storage: Choose a PC or laptop with a solid-state drive (SSD) for faster data access and improved system responsiveness. The storage capacity required will depend on the size of your database and any additional software or files you need to store. Consider devices with at least 128 GB of SSD storage or more.
• Display: The display should be clear and easily readable to facilitate smooth operation and efficient customer service. Look for PCs or laptops with a screen size of 15 inches or larger, and a resolution of at least 1920x1080 pixels. A touchscreen display can provide more intuitive interaction with the PosBros POS software.
• Connectivity: Ensure that the PC or laptop has built-in connectivity options such as Ethernet, USB ports, and Wi-Fi. Ethernet provides a stable and secure connection for networking, while USB ports are essential for connecting peripherals like barcode scanners, receipt printers, and cash drawers.

Tablet (iOS & Android)

PosBros POS is designed to run in the browser and this means that it can be run on most computers. PosBros POS also allows retailers to use our POS on iPad - to ensure you get the most out of our POS, we recommend the following specifications.

• Operating System: Choose a tablet that supports a modern and widely used operating system such as Android or iOS. Ensure that the tablet is running a recent version of the operating system to benefit from security updates and compatibility with the latest software.
• Processor (CPU): Look for a tablet with a capable processor to ensure smooth performance. A quad-core or higher processor, such as Qualcomm Snapdragon or Apple A-series chips, is generally recommended.
• Memory (RAM): The tablet should have sufficient RAM to handle the POS software and other applications simultaneously. A minimum of 2 GB of RAM is typically recommended, but 4 GB or more is preferable for smoother multitasking.
• Storage: The storage capacity required will depend on the size of the POS software, the amount of data you need to store locally, and any additional applications or media files you plan to use. Look for tablets with at least 16 GB of internal storage, but consider devices with expandable storage options such as microSD card slots.
• Display: The display should be clear and responsive for easy navigation and interaction with the POS software. Aim for a tablet with a screen size of 8 inches or larger, and a resolution of at least 1280x800 pixels. A touchscreen display is essential for smooth operation.
• Battery Life: Since tablets are often used on the go or in environments where a power source may not be readily available, consider a tablet with a long battery life. Look for devices with a battery capacity of at least 4000mAh or higher, depending on your usage requirements.
• Connectivity: The tablet should have built-in connectivity options such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for seamless integration with your network and peripheral devices like receipt printers or barcode scanners. Some tablets also offer cellular connectivity for on-the-go use.

Hard to break and steal, industrial touchscreens are the perfect solution for shops and restaurants with a high volume of staff and customers. Posbros POS on industrial touchscreens is compatible with the same peripherals as Laptops & PCs.

Here are some recommended industrial machines:

Barcode scanners

Posbros POS system will work with most USB Barcode scanners, connected directly on your computer. Bluetooth barcode scanners and network receipt printers are supported natively.
